Lily Bergner and Elisabeth Schmidt founded bergnerschmidt in 2009 upon graduating from the University of Applied Science (HTW) in Berlin in Fashion Design, and have been creating geometric concrete jewelry since then in their studio in Berlin Mitte. bergnerschmidt takes its inspiration from Bauhaus for its clean and cool aesthetics demonstrated through its line of rings, cuffs, and necklaces made of white, grey, or black concrete. Each piece of jewelry is handcrafted and unique. A remarkable element of these pieces is that bergnerschmidt has taken concrete, which is typically thought of as cold, hard, and heavy, and turned the material into delicate, smooth, light, and feminine jewelry.
