In the tradition of Japanese Boro textiles, where nothing was wasted and scraps of cloths were re-used to patch and repair clothes, this one-of-a-kind Chiku Chiku indigo square mat is hand-sewn using scrap pieces of vintage Japanese indigo cloth. Chiku Chiku refers to the sound of the action of passing a needle through cloth as each piece is stitched by hand.
Perfect for use as a tea mat or decorative trivet. Made in Japan.
