In the tradition of Japanese Boro textiles, where nothing was wasted and scraps of cloths were re-used to patch and repair clothes, this Chiku Chiku Pochette Bag is hand-sewn using scrap pieces of handwoven silk and cotton fabric. Chiku Chiku refers to the sound of the action of passing a needle through cloth as each piece is stitched by hand.
Although the pouch’s long strap, made from tassar silk, is quite strong we recommend the pouch be used only for carrying relatively lightweight objects.
