These vintage bronze earrings with polished amethyst stones were designed by Pentti Sarpaneva for Torun Hopea in Finland in the 1960s. The earrings feature a natural patina with fine, bold, textured relief markings, and imprinted on the back of each is the stamp of P. Sarpaneva. The jewelry is in good vintage condition.
Measures approximately 2 1/4" long (from top of hook), and 7/8" at its widest point.
Pentti Akseli Sarpaneva (1925-1978) was a Finnish designer who began his design career in the early/mid-1960s, specializing in affordable jewelry and other small items. His works were originally made from enamel and recycled materials, but he later moved on to cast items of bronze, silver and gold.
