A brass medallion pendant by Finnish jewelry designer Pentti Sarpaneva (1925-1978) dating back to the 1960s. Sarpaneva was inspired by elements of the Finnish landscape, by traditional lace, and by the materials themselves, which were often left uncut or unpolished. He produced emotive avant-garde designs that have become increasingly sought after in recent years.
This particular medallion evokes a brutalist aesthetic. The metal has a rough, bark-like texture that forms a circular shape. A pyrite crystal at the center draws the eye in. Comes with a chain.
2.3 inch diameter pendant; 12.5 inch chain
