The collection consists of original watercolor drawings created by Japanese children, which depict everyday motifs such as festival lanterns, vegetables, kites, traditional dress, and symbolic forms. Rendered in soft washes of pigment with confident linework, the drawings reflect early art education practices in Japan, where observation, seasonal subjects, and folk imagery were central.
Each work is painted on lightly toned paper and annotated in Japanese, with visible aging, foxing, and handling marks that attest to their use and preservation over time. Collectively, the drawings offer an intimate view into childhood creativity and visual culture in pre- and postwar Japan, balancing innocence with formal clarity.
Each drawing is enclosed in a protective plastic case.
