Details

Beautiful vintage Japanese wooden confectionery molds once used to shape wagashi—traditional sweets served during tea ceremonies and seasonal celebrations. Each cavity is hand-carved, featuring motifs such as seashells and folkloric faces, classic symbols in Japanese dessert design.

These molds were traditionally used to press sugar, rice flour, or bean-paste mixtures into decorative shapes for festivals or daily tea service. Their smooth wear and patina come from years of use, giving each piece a warm, tactile character.

Hand-carved from solid wood, these molds show gentle wear and patina consistent with age, adding to their character and charm.

These most likely date from the mid-20th century.

All vintage items are final sale.
