Born in Tokyo, Emi Kato graduated from Musashino Art Junior College in Tokyo, Department of Spatial Design. She moved to Milan, Italy in 1995 and gradually stepped into the world of art.
Working with metals and gemstones, she draws inspirations from organic forms that exist in nature, with skillful and enchanting ways of expression. Waves and trees, as well as spirals and primordial signs are symbols that constantly return to her work, guiding us through her personal reflections that have brooded over all aspects of life across culture.
Ovi_vivi is the embodiment of the fundamentals, an embryo "full of life".
