Established in Sapporo by textile designer Kanako Kajiwara, COQ is a studio, store, and gallery that celebrates the rich potential of fabrics. Its textiles draw heavy inspiration from nature, reflecting the visceral effects of air, sunlight, wind, and water through the use of patterns, materials, and textures. To realize designs, artisans marry contemporary techniques with traditional skills such as Nishijin weaving, a centuries-old process that uses many different colored yarns.
