Nuno, which is Japanese for fabric, was founded in 1984 and has since worked exclusively with weavers and dyers in Japan, producing its own unique blend of the traditional and the contemporary. Nuno works to combine old practices with new technologies in order to realize its line of distinctive textiles, which are featured in the collections of major museums across the world. NunoWorks, a partner line, was launched in 2002 as a showcase for hand-printed textiles, using techniques such as silkscreening, stamping, and stenciling.
