Working from her studio in Chiba, Japan, Shizue Ikaga of Eda creates one-of-a-kind pieces from carefully restored vintage Japanese mosquito netting (kaya), paired with natural cotton and linen fabrics. Her dolls and textile works are made through the thoughtful upcycling of both antique and contemporary materials. Inspired by the playful and imaginative world in her mind, she brings each creation to life by hand, transforming treasured textiles into charming objects filled with character and warmth.
