These easy-to-wear low-top sneakers by Japanese brand Moonstar, Shoes Like Pottery, have a loyal following worldwide for their durability and understated style. The bottoms of these cream-colored shoes are a bright aqua blue.
About the firing process:
"Just like Japanese pottery, we fire the shoes in a 120 °C (248 °F) kiln for 70 minutes. The extreme heat and pressure cause the sulfur mixed inside the raw rubber to chemically react, returning the rubber to its original shape. Our unique ka-ryu process enables us to hand-craft small batches of some of the world’s finest vulcanized shoes."
The trainers are then branded with a rubber stamp portraying 'Uchide no kozuchi,' a legendary Japanese mallet that, when swung, is meant to grant its holder's wishes.
