These statement earrings are handcrafted from layers of Japanese washi paper, creating a rich, painterly surface with remarkable depth and texture. Warm tones of rust, ochre, amber, and earthy brown overlap in organic, abstract forms, giving each pair a unique landscape-like appearance.

Hideko Fukushima works with traditional Washi paper from Ayabe City, Kyoto Prefecture, hand-pulled and dyed with vibrant colors drawn from nature. To each piece she adds lacquer, persimmon tannin, and foil—materials that deepen the color and strengthen the surface.

Care

Treated with a water repellent Pearltone finish. If soiled, wipe gently with a lightly dampened cloth. Store away from direct sunlight.
