This vintage Japanese boro remnant is handwoven from finely striped brown cotton and bears the marks of a long working life. Two indigo cotton patches are carefully hand-stitched in place with rows of visible sashiko-style repairs, preserving the textile while creating a striking geometric composition.
The reverse reveals faded circular markings and stitch lines from its original use, adding another layer of history. Frayed edges, age-related wear, and soft fading enhance its authentic character.
