The metal artist Sakiko Sugimura creates small metal works using suction casting.
By making a mold, pouring liquid metal into it, and casting in a vacuum with a suction casting machine, it is possible to express fine details.
Sugimura pierces the wax with a needle to apply embroidery to the wax mold, creating fine patterns that appear on the final product.
These tiny boxes would be perfect for small jewelry.
