A vintage Japanese charcoal starter pan used for igniting or transferring embers for hibachi, irori hearths, or small charcoal stoves. Made of iron with a perforated bottom for airflow and a long wooden handle for safe use. Dating from the early–mid 20th century, with surface rust consistent with age and use.
