Finnish Brushes
Details
Brushes made with a pine tar treated birch stock cut from slow growing Fennoscandian boreal forests of Finland. They are hand stitched with dark horse hair blend bristles by the crafts people of a Finnish visually impaired workers cooperative. As well as granting the brushes their distinctive dark look, pine tar is a traditional wood preserving and protective treatment, granting them some extra protection from spills or damp storage, or as a disguise for soot marks if used as a fireside aid.
