Vintage Japanese Sake-bukuro

Translation missing: en.products.general.regular_price $75.00
Details

This vintage Japanese sake-bukuro is a traditional cotton filtration bag once used in sake brewing. Dyed repeatedly with kakishibu (persimmon tannin), it has developed a rich brown tone and a beautifully textured, timeworn surface. Hand-stitched patches and visible repairs reflect years of use and give the piece its warm, wabi-sabi character. A striking textile for display or collection.

This piece is likely from the period of 1920–1950, based on its materials, construction, and dye.

All vintage items are final sale.
