This delicate coffee cup from the sesame series, handcrafted in Kyoto by TOKINOHA Ceramic Studio, comes in a warm ivory matte glaze. While decorative on its own, the subtly-speckled vessel is meant to be used in everyday situations. 

The rim is made of iron called Bengala, which gives it a soft yet crisp feel.

The name "sesame" comes from the black spots that appear here and there on the surface of the pottery. This is a series that develops a unique character the more you use it, as is unique to earthenware.
