Details
Sakurajima volcanic ash is kiln-baked into white porcelain to create these tea cups from designer Yusuke Kido at One Kiln in Japan.
The volcanic ash glaze on the outside of these cups lend the porcelain a slight iridescence and texture that makes each piece unique.
An attractive feature of this glaze is how it changes over time. It may show oil or water marks, but the more you use it, the more it will turn a moist, unique, deep black.
