Each of Nobue Ibaraki's earthenware works is hand-built with natural glazes that evoke buried treasure. The metallic appearance is the result of the chemical reaction to the firing, obtained with glazes containing cobalt, copper, and clays composed of other metals as well. Materials are sourced locally in Tajimi, Japan.
No two works are alike; as each piece is hand-made, size and color vary.
