Vintage Large Wooden Shallow Bowl

Translation missing: en.products.general.regular_price $183.00
Details

Dating from the early 20th century, this hand-carved shallow wooden bowl, or mayuzara, was used for sericulture (the production of silkworms), a common practice in Japanese homes at the time. These hand-carved cocoon plates have a warm feel to them and can also be used as trays to hold fruit or potpourri.

This product is an antique that has been used for many years. Please note that scratches, stains, and slight distortions not visible in the photos are part of its character.

The inner surface is somewhat rough, so it is recommended for dry goods only.
